This is the most common location to have engravings done on the stone, and it is named double slant due to its perpendicular design at the top. As previously stated, a double slant headstone typically stands 16-18 inches tall, 36 inches wide, and 10 inches thick at the base, gradually decreasing to 2 inches at the peak. This distinct taper makes it “slant,” thus the name ‘Slant’ memorial.
This 24″ wide slant can be placed directly on a grave site or cemetery, and it can be set on the ground or have a cement base foundation for increased stability. You may even have it mounted to a more extensive, same-colored granite base for extra decoration with flower vases or other mementos.
It begins at 36 inches wide and can be designed to span several plots in case the burial plot is large enough.
